The Ngani-Vatu, also known as Ngutu-lei is a giant bird of Oceania. Its name is a Fijian (Austronesian) word. It is said to seize and carry off humans. It is found in the Fiji Islands. The Ngani-Vatu is about 15 feet from head to tail. Its body feathers are light green while the wing, face, and tail feathers are red. Its wingspan is about 10 feet across. It has small 4 fingered hands on the ends of its wings.
